Monochrome interiors can be full of joy and intrigue, and this bathroom, designed by Lucinda K Design, perfectly reflects the purpose it was made for: a lively home nightclub for a client who adores entertaining. Located within a grade II listed house, the brief was for a space that was playful and memorable, whilst respecting the historic bones of the house.
Lucinda selected the handcrafted Bryony basin and accessories from
London Basin Company, introducing warm brass and gold accents to the black and white scheme as a glamourous ode to nightlife.
Keeping the design largely monochrome offered the opportunity to embrace a wallpaper with a lively, animated pattern without overwhelming the space. Divine Savages’ Safari Soirée wallpaper, with its cast of partying animals, immediately gives the room a sense of fun and theatricality. Farrow & Ball’s Pitch Black in a high-gloss finish covers the woodwork to ground the space.
“London Basin Company’s Bryony basin brings everything together. Its textured surface catches the light beautifully and gives the room a sculptural, jewel-like focal point,” says Lucinda. “It may be a small space, but it has a big personality, perfectly reflecting both the nightclub setting and a client who loves nothing more than hosting a party at home.”
The Bryony basin appears to float upon the glass and gold Ezra vanity, which nods to art deco design with its striking geometric frame. The vanity is perfectly complemented by the Austin Oval mirror and Oscar tap, both crafted in a warm, brushed gold.
The resulting space is intimate, charming and deliberately glamorous, proving that even the smallest rooms can have a strong sense of occasion.
