Adriana Basin Shines in Bold Yellow Bathroom
Overlooking Sydney’s Centennial Park, this listed Australian home underwent a renovation to bring colour and life to the space whilst respecting the house's heritage.
The owners turned to Brooke Aitken, interior designer, to transform their home, including the renovation of the master ensuite. Brooke took inspiration from the vibrant colours existing within the original house design and selected Ipanema from Resene – a bright, golden yellow – as a starting point and base for the design.
The Adriana Basin from
London Basin Company acts as a centrepiece for the space. It was the perfect choice to honour the home's history whilst continuing the spirit of pattern and colour used thoughtfully throughout.
The porcelain Adriana features a traditional, oriental-inspired floral pattern with rich, jewel tones of emerald green and regal blue. Embellished by flecks of gold, these decorative details interplay with the glossy yellow tiles serving as a splashback. Red spheres encircle the interior of the ceramic basin, and the combination of rich, primary colours ensures the Adriana sits confidently against its sunny yellow backdrop.
The Adriana is perfectly paired with London Basin Company’s Felix Vanity. Its rustic wood countertop and contemporary industrial steel frame bridge the gap between traditional style and the modern fittings and fixtures within, such as the sleek rotating mirror by Kristina Dam Studio and matt black taps from Brodware.
