Nestled within the heart of the Aberdeenshire countryside, Manar House is a magnificent Georgian home forming a country estate. The estate was taken on by couple Christina and Dean Horspool, who wished to transform the grand but tired house into a luxurious retreat. Thoughtfully designing and lovingly restoring each room, they chose
London Basin Company’s Delphine basin and Ezra vanity to elevate the master bathroom, crafting a magical space.
Set against a backdrop of soft powder pink, the Delphine basin brings nature to the bathroom, featuring a hand decorated pattern of gliding cranes and delicate cherry blossom against a soft blue background. The Ezra vanity is crafted from solid oak in a royal blue finish with a distressed edge and solid brass hardware; it’s a contemporary design with a whisper of vintage charm.
To respect the age and character of the property, it was important to get the balance between traditional and contemporary just right. The Delphine was the perfect choice, with its serene yet playful design, and the Ezra vanity brings a pop of colour and a contemporary feel whilst still proving a good fit for a historical home.
“Throughout the house, the aim was to bring the beauty of nature inside and put a modern spin on country elegance,” says Christine. “We were deeply inspired by the rolling hills and lush landscape that surrounds us.” Natural marble, brass hardware and vintage accessories feel quietly luxurious and set the tone, allowing the basin and vanity to shine.
