Arts & Crafts Reimagined | DesignSpace London

The Arts & Crafts movement focused on superior craftsmanship and beauty in design. After becoming owners of a handsome and quintessential Arts & Crafts property, the owners wanted to capture the essence of this style, concentrating on quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. DesignSpace London was specified to build bespoke furniture throughout the property, combining captivating colours with luxurious natural materials to create a contemporary yet characterful family home.

Providing the perfect space to get ready at the start of the day or unwind upon their return, the master bathroom is a highlight. Generous in size with high, decorative ceilings and a large window overlooking the landscaped garden, the space doubles as a dressing room and is designed to produce a feeling of tranquillity. It is cleverly zoned for different purposes; the room includes a bespoke vanity area, a freestanding bath overlooking the garden, a generous shower area and elegant ceiling-height wardrobes spanning the space's length.

The room showcases a natural colour palette, taking inspiration from the lush view from the window; a calming shade of sage green is perfectly complemented by marble countertops veined with subtle green and grey hues. Shaker-style furniture brings understated elegance and prevents the wardrobes from overwhelming the space, and the sleek design and subtle colour make them an integral part of the room. Black metal finishes provide a contemporary touch and a contrasting element to the neutral tones.

Designed to perfectly suit the needs of the family, the kitchen is the central hub of the home. Utilising modern appliances, such as a hob with a built-in extractor and food waste disposal unit, keeps the kitchen streamlined so the cabinetry can take centre stage.
The bespoke shaker-style cabinets, painted in a delightful dusky pink, offer a sleek look but with a fun edge. The colour works perfectly with black accents; a black Richlite worktop and black accessories give the kitchen a contemporary finish.

The large island draws attention in the centre of the room. With ample space for seating, family and guests can enjoy sitting and chatting with the cook. A Sea Pearl natural quartzite worktop ties the space together, with dramatic black and pink veining perfectly reflecting the colour scheme of the kitchen. A matching splashback of the same material is featured behind the display cabinet to create a striking feature.

The dusky pink colour scheme and sleek shaker-style cabinetry are continued through the property into a smart utility room, which is well-equipped with modern appliances and ample storage to hide away unsightly items from the main kitchen space.

The small ensuite room with an adjoining dressing room also features the same hue, with generous wardrobes lining the walls to the entrance of the shower and toilet area. The bespoke DesignSpace London cabinetry used throughout ensures a seamless finish that perfectly complements the space it occupies.
