Ornamenti Biot Jars

23 May 23

Beautiful examples of traditional French pottery and artisanship, Biot jars have a long, established craft history as well as a societal significance, being used as functionary vessels to store and transport food and liquids such as olive oil. Their design heritage dates back to the Middle Ages, originating in the medieval town of Biot, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. The vase’s simple, curved shape has stood the test of time and today Biot jars are used as decorative objects in indoor spaces and garden rooms.

ORNAMENTI’s extensive collection includes three Biot jars, each created to make a statement and modelled from traditional French earthenware designs. With varying shapes and sizes as well as charming decorative finishes to choose from, including antique patina and yellow and ivory glazing, these are classic pieces reimagined as stylish focal points for contemporary schemes. ORNAMENTI also offer a full collection of traditional Provencal earthenware designs in Anduze and Bugadier styles. All are normally held in stock for quick delivery.
