New Hammered Copper Finish

10 Apr 17

Drummonds’ uniquely luxurious new Hammered Copper finish celebrates the many artisanal processes involved in the making of their cast iron baths. From the pouring of the molten iron to the dry frit enamelling, each bath takes several weeks to make - even before the specialist hand finishing.

Now available to order on many of Drummonds’ baths, the Hammered Copper finish is a craft process which begins with wrapping the bath exterior in sheet copper. This is then beaten into place by hand with mallets, creating the characteristic undulations and dimples. Finally, the metal is polished to a high shine and then lacquered to preserve the natural warmth and gleaming lustre of the copper.

The new Hammered Copper finish is shown here on Drummonds’ Wye bateau bath.
