George Spencer Design's New and Extended Showroom

07 Apr 21

One of Britain’s longest established fabric houses, George Spencer Designs has extended its Design Centre Chelsea Harbour showroom.  With an additional 710 sq ft the showroom now extends to a total of 1770 sq ft. Bright and contemporary, the space is designed to showcase their ever-expanding collection of fabrics, wallpapers and trimmings.

With a British heritage stretching back nearly 80 years, George Spencer Designs’ hallmark style is luxurious and sophisticated, emphasising natural fibres, textural weaves and craft mills.

George Spencer Designs is also known for representing some of the most original and exciting names in interiors. With the extended showroom providing significantly more space, historic silk weaving company and Royal Warrant holder, Gainsborough, has been added to the roster of brands on display, with their very own jewel-like pod.  International brands on display in the showroom include Aux Abris, Clay McLaurin Studio, Francois Gilles, Katerina Tana, Paris L’Apres Midi and ZAK+FOX.

The showroom is a visual feast of colours, textures, and patterns. Inspiration is all around with a fabulous array of samples displayed throughout, including fabric hangers and wallpaper wings to browse through.

George Spencer are experts in their field and can create personalised mood boards using complementary fabrics, wallpapers and trimmings from their extensive offering. The new space features peaceful, relaxing seating areas - perfect for sitting down and discussing your ideas with the team.

Fabric wings are grouped in brands for easy reference and large samples can be removed to compare against products from the other brands available.

Amongst Britain’s last remaining silk weaving houses, Gainsborough has a large presence in the showroom with their own jewel-like pod - the ideal display for their exquisite fabrics.
Alongside their archived designs, they produce new fabrics on their historic looms - many of which can be viewed in the showroom.
