Drummonds at the London Design Fair

07 Aug 19

19-22 September 2019
The Bathroom Gallery, Old Truman Brewery, Shoreditch
Stand number 14, Hall 11

Drummonds are exhibiting at the London Design Fair for the first time in the newly created Bathroom Gallery.  Set within the soaring, industrial architecture of the Old Truman Brewery, their stand features classic bathroomware on a similarly grand scale.

It echoes their industrial heritage in more directly connected ways too: Drummonds manufacture their own bathroomware using traditional methods and elemental raw materials; iron, brass, china clay, marble and glass. The production of each piece involves a lengthy series of craft processes and, over the course of several weeks, those raw materials are elevated and transformed into sumptuous bathrooms.

Two grand cast-iron baths, the Avon and the Bute offer traditional and contemporary interpretations of a classic form. Together they frame an imposing Ladybower double vanity topped with twin Derwent mirrors.  Naturally decorative, the marble and mirror-glass offer cool contrasts to gleaming, hand-cast brassware. Taps, towel rails and other accessories showcase Drummonds’ bespoke finishes including an unlacquered ‘live’ brass that will gradually acquire a unique patina.

Antique Marble Porcelain in Arabescato and Nero Marquina by Lapicida will be featured on the stand in a chequerboard design.
