An evolution of Martin Moore’s original New Deco design, the Deco Umbra collection is characterised by a signature shadow gap and recessed bead, as well as a sleek, stone clad canopy.
Just like its sister collection, Deco Umbra takes its inspiration from the architects and craftsmen of the 1930s, whose Art Deco designs featured clean, geometric lines and decorative materials shaped by exceptional craft skills. The new design has a streamlined, pared-back aesthetic, but offers limitless decorative possibilities by incorporating statement materials from veneers and metallics to ceramics and porcelains.
Its genesis came about when Design Director, Richard Moore was designing the New Deco sideboard to commemorate the 45th anniversary. A contemporary take on a classic design, its sleek, linear form inspired Richard to take this concept to a grander scale, into a complete collection for kitchens, offices, boot rooms, utilities, bars and other rooms in the house. Its refined look allows statement materials and finishes to really shine.
