Terracotta (‘cooked earth’) floors are back as a trend for 2023, now gracing some of the smartest interiors with their warm, natural appeal. The epitome of relaxed living, they come in a wide range of pinks, reds and creams - reflecting the clays native to the regions from which they hail.
Lapicida’s new ‘Spanish Handmade Terracotta’ is a charming collection of terracotta floor tiles, handmade from raw materials, and sculpted by artisans using traditional craft practices. Each tile is moulded by hand before being placed in a wood-fired oven at 1000°C+ for approximately 48 hours. Available in three tonal colourways - Natural, Light and Black - they bring a touch of the Mediterranean to interiors.
