Reimagined Yorkshire Dales Farmhouse

30 Jan 23

Located in the glorious surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales, this 18th century stone-built house was reconceived and reimagined by Stylesmith Interiors. Over the years, the farmhouse had become run down and dilapidated, and was not suited to contemporary living.

The brief was to modernise the interior by opening-up the space, and by embracing a luxury boutique hotel aesthetic that was still welcoming and comfortable. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, it was also essential to take advantage of the breathtaking views surrounding the property.

Stylesmith chose fellow Harrogate-based company
Lapicida, the leading specialists in surfaces, for the property’s floors and walls.

Montpellier Beige porcelain features in the main kitchen and living space. Authentically toned and textured, with a gently antiqued finish, it captures the genuine look and feel of reclaimed natural stone, but offers the easy installation and durability of porcelain, making it perfect for these heavy traffic areas.

Lapicida offers a varied collection of ceramics and high-performance porcelains, which are specifically designed to work alongside their exceptional new and antique natural stones.

Montpellier Beige was also carried through into the hallway but laid in a different pattern, using octagon shaped tiles with Antique Marble Nero Marquina inserts. This adds decorative interest to the space and demarks it from the kitchen/living room.

Chosen throughout, a combination of Lapicida’s Antique Marble and Montpellier Beige porcelains brings glamour and practicality to the bathrooms and cloakroom within the property. Widely showcasing a warm, dreamy colour palette of balanced neutrals contrasted with bold brass fittings, the choice of marble and stone-effect tiles add a sense of luxury to the rooms, and achieve the boutique spa-like feel, essential to the owners’ brief.
