Island Life: A New Collection from McLaurin & Piercy @ George Spencer Designs

Founded in 2013 by Clay McLaurin and Todd Piercy, McLaurin & Piercy is an LA based fabric and wallpaper company, represented in the UK by George Spencer Designs.

Launching this Spring, McLaurin & Piercy’s latest fabric collection, ‘Island Life’, seeks to evoke the image of an ethereal, idyllic existence on a remote desert island.  Taking inspiration from the natural world, including vast oceans, luscious plant life, and tranquil, gem coloured lagoons, the collection features eight vibrant designs, available in a range of colourways.  Reimagined as fabrics, several of the designs are also available as wallpapers.

BALINESE

The exotic Balinese landscape includes lush vertical mangroves, vines, bamboo and many varieties of orchids - all of which inspire this design.

BATAK

Batak is a bamboo style structure made using purely natural material with a thatched roof. Found mostly in the North Sumatra region of Indonesia, they have a tension roof structure composed of outward leaning gables that are mesmerizing and solid in their form.

BIKKIA 

Named after the wild cliffside flower found on the Pacific islands of Maluku, this fabric is decorated in and abundance of sprawling Bikkia flowers.

Drawing on ancient folklore and tradition, Mas features a gridded pattern resembling the intricate wood carvings found in the Mas village of Indonesia.

Traditionally used for ceremonial and medicinal purposes, the tagetes flower symbolises the light within the soul, and forms the main motif of this decorative fabric.
