Serene Symmetry - Dream Bathroom from Drummonds

Located in West London, this Victorian town house had been split into 5 bedsits and was in a state of disrepair. Smith & Brooke Architects worked closely with the new owners to totally transform the property, reconfiguring the interior to return it to its former glory.

Previously comprised of two bedrooms and a shared kitchen, the entire first floor was opened up to create a spacious and airy master suite.
Drummonds was the starting point for the bathroom - the owners wanted the space to have a serene, spa-like feel with classic, luxurious pieces at the centre.

The freestanding Avon bath in a polished finish makes a dramatic impact upon entering the room; positioned directly in front of the large sash window it enjoys lovely views of the olive trees just outside. Achieving a sense of symmetry, the bath is flanked on either side by Single Taw vanities – with a strong profile, Arabescato marble tops and metal front strips, they bring a cool, contemporary edge to the scheme.

Round Tilt Mirrors and Single Dalby Lights with conical glass shades provide the perfect finishing touches, adding glamour to the space.  To one side a sleek walk-in shower enclosure showcases the bold, architectural Bestwood X-head shower, enhancing the room’s contemporary feel, as well as adding an industrial touch.

Although the scheme has been kept deliberately minimal, a hidden shelf was installed just behind the bath, offering necessary storage space and keeping gels and lotions close at hand, but out of sight.

Fresh, airy and timeless, the coordinated coming together of these beautiful Drummonds’ pieces, has realised the owners’ vision of a calm, peaceful and stylish bathroom space.
