Drummonds Earn their Stripes

27 Jun 22

The previous owners of this four bedroom Victorian townhouse had lived there for over half a century and had left the interior largely untouched. The new owners decided it was time to modernise and tasked interior designer, Orla Read, with giving the property a fresh new look that retained a classic, timeless feel.

Formerly occupying a small, windowless room in the middle of the house, the new bathroom is spacious, light and airy, combining large-scale, statement bathroom fittings with quirky design features.

When it came to the bathroom’s key components,
Drummonds was Orla’s first choice: ‘I love everything about Drummonds. You can combine so many different products and styles, and they offer various bespoke finishes which make each bathroom unique.’

Dramatic and imposing, two large Dalby showers are set against a striking green and white striped background, forming the focal point of the room. Orla explains that ‘adding stripes is a great way to introduce a playful element without overwhelming the space.’ The rustic, warmth of the Antique Brass finish co-ordinates perfectly with the emerald green of the hand-painted Balineum tiles.

Drummonds cast-iron Swale bath fulfils the owners’ calls for a classic, elegant scheme whilst its ‘Poryphyry Pink’ Farrow & Ball painted finish ties in with the other colourful, contemporary design elements within the room. Facing the shower area, the Double Taw Vanity features a rich Verde Guatemala marble top, echoing the green tiles directly opposite.
