BACK TO BRASS TAPS…
JUNE 26TH 2017

This kitchen was part of a complete renovation project by Rise Design Studio, transforming a neglected, run-down North London house into a bright, light living space. The ground floor was opened up and extended, with the kitchen/dining area now flowing directly out into the garden. The Watermark Collection’s Brooklyn taps were chosen for their pure, architectural form and authentic, handmade solidity: Their brushed brass finish provides a visual link to the pendant lights above the island and together they bring a note of warmth to this cool, modern interior.

Shown here: The Watermark Collection’s Brooklyn deck mounted two-hole basin set in brushed brass finish.

LAUNCHING ELEMENTS - A MODULAR TAP COLLECTION
MAY 31ST 2017
Over 175,000 configurations…

Every Elements tap is modular and totally customisable; made up of a base, an insert and a cover.

Handmade in solid brass, the bases and inserts offer 15 specialist finish options, including polished nickel, copper and gold, vintage brass, gun metal and pewter.

The 14 different, interchangeable, covers are grouped as, ‘Forged’ (metal), ‘Raw’ (concrete), ‘Rock’ (marble & stone) and ‘Lumber’ (concrete ‘wood’).  Each one is a unique craft collaboration, handmade in studios as far apart as Italy and the US and in materials as diverse as concrete, bronze and marble.

The Watermark Collection’s brilliant Configurator software allows people to design their own Elements taps online, testing the thousands of potential configurations to find their own unique style.

Elements offers a full collection of taps for basins, baths, showers and kitchens, with co-ordinating spouts completing the look.

DRAMATIC LOFT SHOWER ROOM
APRIL 20TH 2017

The Watermark Collection offers edgy, bold new views on kitchen and bathroom brassware. Handmade in Brooklyn, New York, each piece is precisely machined from solid brass, hand finished and assembled to order. The entire collection is available to order in 15 different specialist finishes; from polished nickel and oiled bronze to vintage brass and copper.

This striking shower room occupies the roof extension of a Victorian townhouse renovation in London by interior designer Melissa Jenkinson of Heirloom Studio. Her choice of shower, taps and towel rail in aged brass from The Watermark Collection’s Brooklyn Collection dramatically poses the warm metal against cool charcoal and white monochrome. A gilt-framed antique mirror subtly references the building’s heritage, connecting new to old in much the same way as The Watermark Collection’s unique, handmade brassware.

Perfectly on the cusp of traditional and modern, the London range by The Watermark Collection is a streamlined look at classic brassware, stripping down familiar forms into clean, contemporary lines.  Two handle types, Cross and Lever, lend sculptural presence to a collection which includes bath, basin, shower and kitchen taps.

DECEMBER 14TH 2016

The Watermark Collection offers edgy, bold new views on kitchen and bathroom brassware. Handmade in Brooklyn, New York, each piece is precisely machined from solid brass, hand finished and assembled to order. The entire collection is available to order in 15 different specialist finishes; from polished nickel and oiled bronze to vintage brass and copper.

The bathroom shown here is one of three recently completed by Maisha Design for a Thames-side apartment in Butler’s Wharf. All three feature The Watermark Collection. This bathroom uses ‘Sense’ polished copper taps and accessories, highlighting the warm metal as an exciting counterpoint to cool marble and glass. An infinitely variable lighting system has been designed to accentuate the supreme luxury of the materials.

Designed for Watermark by prestigious US studio Clodagh Design Signature, Sense features a distinctive hand beaten detailing. Inspired by Manhattan’s neo-classical stonework, it’s a unique effect made by craftsmen employing a rare Warner & Swasey No 6. Turret Lathe, built in 1938. Because the detailing is rendered by eye using this unique machine, every piece of Sense brassware is a one off.

‘SOPHISTICATED-INDUSTRIAL’ BATHROOM DESIGN…
NOVEMBER 22ND 2016

The London bathroom shown here is by interior designer Roselind Wilson. It features taps by The Watermark Collection as part of a look she’s described as “sophisticated-industrial”. The taps, from the ‘Zen’ and ‘London’ collections, are in a Vintage Brass finish and share an architectural simplicity of form. Refined and luxurious, they are a natural fit with both the feature stone and the clever use of different finishes on metal elements including the taps, basin, radiator and mirror. The finished bathroom has the luxury feel of a chic hotel, but with a warmth and individuality born of designing every detail around the client’s wishes.

CLERKENWELL DESIGN WEEK
MAY 15TH 2016

Growing in interest and variety every year, Clerkenwell Design Week has become one of our favourite events of the design calendar. This year Arc has two clients exhibiting in two very different locations.

Bespoke furniture maker Tree Couture, which has a permanent showroom within Clerkenwell London at 155 Farringdon Road, will be taking part in the ‘Design Undefined’ programme running throughout CDW.

Live event: Troo Heath-Crew and her craftsmen will be building a new concept piece, ‘Valet’ live over the three days, allowing visitors to interact, close-up, with the design, the craft skills and the sheer beauty of the materials chosen by Troo for this project.

Q&A: ‘Functional, Fashionable Furnishing.” On Wednesday 25th from 4pm – 6pm at Clerkenwell London, Troo Heath-Crew and renowned tailor David Newell will be discussing how to achieve the all-important sartorial edge in clothing, furniture and lifestyle.

The Watermark Collection, pioneers of boutique brassware for bathrooms and kitchens, are part of CDFW ‘Detail’. They’ll be showing on Stand D6 at The Order of St John, inviting visitors to  participate in  developing a new modular tap concept,  ‘ELEMENTS’.

ELEMENTS sees The Watermark Collection in London working with five different designer-maker workshops including Boxheart, working in wood, Forma Studio, working in concrete and Anka, working in liquid metals.

Visitors to Detail can join the design dialogue, physically exploring thousands of combinations which the components offer and constructing their own individual version of an ELEMENTS tap. The six different metal finishes, three different handle forms and twenty different handle covers together offer almost 250,000 potential combinations of form, materials, colour and finish. The conversation continues on Instagram, giving people the chance to win the Elements tap they designed.

INTRODUCING THE WATERMARK COLLECTION
JANUARY 20TH 2016
The Watermark Collection offers edgy, radical new views on bathroom and kitchen brassware, combining authentic industrial heritage with a contemporary decorative chic.

Handcrafted in Brooklyn
Each piece is precisely machined from solid lead-free brass, hand finished and assembled to order. All this still takes place where the Watermark brand was born, in 1976, in Brooklyn, New York.  Many of the original craftsmen still work in the factory to this day, combining traditional metal finishing with precision engineering.

Architectural inspirations
Bringing Watermark’s signature looks to the UK and Europe, The Watermark Collection offers eight bold, architectural
ranges. All of the ambition and technical prowess of New York’s architecture is distilled in designs including ‘Brooklyn’, inspired by gate valves in mid-century apartment blocks, ‘Elan Vital’, referencing the stripped-down aesthetic of a commercial ball valve and the stone-handled ‘Zen’, one of several intensely modern ranges in the collection.

Bespoke combinations: Range, components and finish
The Watermark Collection describes itself as “a creative brand for creative people” offering boutique brassware.  With each range giving up to sixty different product options for kitchens and bathroom basins, baths and showers, customers create their own completely individual set-ups.  At the next level of choice, there are fifteen different
finishes, including polished nickel, copper and gold, vintage brass, gun metal and pewter.  To achieve the luxurious, durable metal finishes which are such a signature of Watermark, every component goes through a process of hand polishing, plating and spraying which can take several days. The products are then hand assembled and intensively pressure tested before being packed for shipping.  Lead times are around ten to twelve weeks.

Leading designers: Prestige projects
The Watermark Collection includes brassware designs from leading names such as Clodagh Signature and Gwathmey Siegel Kaufman. Watermark has become a natural choice for architects and designers in projects which range from private houses to luxurious hotels all over the world.  Recent high profile projects include The Ritz-Carlton in Shanghai and Miami’s Eden Roc.
