Inspired by boutique hotels, headboards are a key trend in contemporary bedroom designs. If you want to follow the interiors professionals’ lead, Simon Horn now offer custom headboards, made to order in the UK, allowing customers to specify everything from style and size to their own upholstery fabrics and finishing detailing.

Shown here, Simon Horn’s Winged
Beaufort headboard was specified by RFR Property’s Interior Design Team for this elegant loft-style London apartment. The custom-made Beaufort with its classic studded detailing was upholstered in Kirkby Designs’ Oxford in ‘Midnight’, creating a cool, sophisticated, yet welcoming look.

Grand Palais, Paris: June 16th - 26th

Superstar Chef Jean Imbert is presiding over La Cornue’s sky-high Pop Up restaurant at the Cinema Paradiso film festival.

Showcasing classic films and cult favourites, the festival is being held in Paris’ dramatic Grand Palais building, under the largest glass roof in Europe.

Equally dramatic, the specially-built La Cornue W. kitchen, designed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, is situated in a gallery 10 metres above floor level, giving diners balcony seats with a spectacular view of the giant screen. It’s an amazing combination of treats from La Cornue: dinner with France’s best known young chef and the best seats in the house!

Last Thursday was the annual Chelsea Design Quarter Summer Street Party, held along the stretch of the Kings Road between New Kings Road and Lots Road. An interior design hub, the showrooms stayed open late, with food, drinks and entertainment on offer – even the sun came out!

Drummonds got the party started at their flagship showroom, with The Twisted Soul Collective on the decks. The Rhythm Parlour Barber Shop, named ‘London’s best pop up’ by Time Out, snipped and styled guests whilst G&Ts were on hand courtesy of Sipsmith.

The newest colours from Edward Bulmer Pots of Paint include Lead Colour, part of Edward’s palette of greys, all rich with natural mineral pigments.

A popular Georgian shade, Lead Colour takes its name from the natural element. Edward notes that lead “changes colour with weathering and if you could stop it at the moment when it has the most pleasing shade it would reflect our colour.”

Drummonds’ products have been specified for tennis champ Andy Murray’s luxury hotel, the Cromlix, located near his hometown of Dunblane. Opened in spring last year, the five-Star Victorian villa is set in 34 acres of woodland and gardens, with its own private loch. The hotel boasts a Chez Roux restaurant, five suites, ten bedrooms, a Gate Lodge and two tennis courts decked out in Wimbledon’s famous green and purple.

The Murrays remain loyal to Dunblane and in April this year Andy and bride Kim Sears married at Dunblane Cathedral, before holding their wedding reception at the Cromlix. Andy Murray oversaw the redesign of the hotel, which aimed to stay true to the house’s heritage. Bedrooms are luxuriously decorated and five of the bathrooms feature Drummonds’
Usk or Torridge baths.

The image below shows Drummonds’ classic Torridge bath in situ at the Cromlix. The Torridge is based on the 18th century ‘boat bath’, with decorative ball and claw feet. This elegant roll top bath is the perfect complement to the hotel’s sophisticated country house style.

Simon Horn's Rouen sofa bed, a classic lit bateau design, is now available in a new Biedermeier finish. 19th century Biedermeier style prized sophisticated simplicity and the Rouen embodies this, with honey coloured cherry wood panels highlighting the natural wood grain. The Rouen converts into two single beds for flexible sleeping arrangements.

Handmade and hand finished, Simon Horn’s famous sofa beds have a unique mechanism and mattress, giving the smoothest transition to a bed. The functional sofa bed is transformed into a beautiful piece of furniture in its own right, providing elegant seating by day and a comfortable place for guests to sleep by night.

Marble is one of the most luxurious stones and, although undeniably timeless, is also a top trend for 2015. Each piece is completely unique, bringing warmth and depth to interiors. Hardwearing as well as highly decorative, marble is the perfect choice for bathrooms.

Lapicida sources stone from all over the world and selected a dramatically veined Calacatta Oro marble for the walls and floors of this bathroom and wet room. The honed finish creates a satin-smooth matt surface whilst the floor has been book matched for an elegant, perfectly symmetrical effect, highlighting the natural beauty of this
classic white marble.

Carbon fibre is an extraordinary high-tech material, usually associated with the Aerospace and Formula One industries. Supremely sleek in matt black, it marries high performance with real glamour, never more so than in the new La Cornue Château 150 Carbon Edition…

Originally designed in 2014 as a one-off piece to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of La Cornue’s emblematic
Château 150 model, the carbon finish proved so popular that it is now available to order. Matt black carbon fibre panels are paired with a stainless steel trim in black-tinted finish, below left, or traditional stainless steel trim, below right - creating a dramatic new signature stove.
