THE KISS - ART IN STONE
OCTOBER 26TH 2012

‘The Kiss’ is a bespoke mural, created by Lapicida in celebration of painter Gustav Klimt’s most famous work. The sumptuous golden robe has been re-interpreted in burnished brass, sandstone and Italian marble, creating a work of art in every way as complex and dazzling as the gilded image which inspired it.  Handmade to special commission, ‘The Kiss’ demonstrates Lapicida’s extraordinary ability to see stone differently.

Austrian Symbolist painter Gustav Klimt painted The Kiss between 1907 and 1908. It marked the highpoint of his "Golden Period”.
