PANTONE ANNOUNCE NEW COLOUR
MAY 28TH 2015

The Pantone Color Institute have announced a despicable new colour, PANTONE Minion Yellow, inspired by the diminutive, dungaree’d creatures from the Despicable Me franchise and upcoming prequel, Minions.

Pantone’s colour matching service is used by artists and designers and this is their first new colour in three years. The vibrant yellow apparently reflects a trend for brighter hues: "Colour is contextual and right now there is a desire for colours that are more vibrant and uplifting. This is especially the case with the yellows, so given the worldwide popularity of the Minions, it seemed only natural to name a colour after a character for the first time in our history," said Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute.

We’ve compiled some inspiration from our clients on how to bring this cheerily irreverent colour into your home, from Drummonds’
handpainted Spey, Edward Bulmer Pots of Paint’s Brimstone or a custom La Cornue Chateau 120.
